Chapter 36 part 2

We move to the living-room, and sits in the couch or on the floor. The little boys, Dani and Alex is going away to play somewhere, and Christina is at Nick’s.
We all talk for a while, just having a great time, when suddenly, the doorbell rings.
“Who can it be?” Dad asks, glancing at his watch.

I glance over at Harry and Zayn. They are looking at each other, like they are having a telepathic conversation. Then I catch Harry’s face. He looks like he’s thinking really hard, and he has a wrinkle between his eyebrows.
“I’ll get it”, I mumble and go out from the room. The doorbell rings again.
“I’m coming!” I yell to the person at the door, before locking up and opening.

I stop in mid-track when I see who it is.

He looks at me with plead in his eyes, and he doesn’t need to say anything. I already know who he wants to talk to.
I can’t bear to say anything. He looks at me, and I just nod. “She’s here”, I manage to get out from my suddenly very dry mouth, and he looks relived.
Then I look back into the hallway.
“Who is it?” Someone asks from the living room.
“Amy!” I yell back. “It’s for you”.

Even though she’s quite far away I can hear her groan. “Tell whoever it is to go away”.

I sight and turn to him again. “Wait a second, I’ll get her”.
He mouths “thank you”, and takes a deep breath, before running his fingers through his hair.

I walk back to the living-room, were everybody looks at me. Everybody is quiet when they wait for me to say something.
“Amy”, I say with a loud and clear voice, while looking at her. “I’m pretty sure you do want to take this one”.


Amy’s POV

I slowly get up from the chair I’m sitting in and put down the glass with soda I have in my hand. I give Lisa an irritated look when I go past her. She just stands there, with a chocked look on her face.

When I come out from the living-room I begin to talk.
“Look, this really isn’t a great tim-“

Then I go quiet. And I look up at him. And my eyes register his face, and tell my brain that he’s here, even though I don’t believe it. And I try to convince myself to go up to him, but I can’t.
Niall is wearing a clean white t-shirt and a black blazer. The blonde hair is newly dyed and quiffed till perfection, and he’s holding a bouquet of beautiful flowers. You can’t hear anything except both of our deep breaths as we look at each other.
Then he coughs a little. “Erhm… You… You look beautiful, Amy”, He says.

Still, I can’t say anything. I just stand there, looking at him.
“I… I brought you flowers”, he continues, showing me the bouquet. “I know that you love roses”.

Suddenly I take a step forward. It’s a small step. Baby-step, if you’d like.
Soon I’m right in front of Niall, who’ve stopped talking.
My hands are shaking as I put my fingertips on his cheek, and then the rest of my hand. I take a deep breath when I realise that he’s real. He’s here.

“You’re a jerk, Niall”.
He looks down at me. He takes his hand and places it on mine. “I know, Amy”, he whispers.
Tears are forming in my eyes, and I bit my lip as I try not to start to cry.
“You are a jerk and I love you so much”.
