Chapter 3

Jack Frost’s POV

When the gang had given up on breaking the ice wall and finally gone away, Jack let the wall melt away. The girl sat on the ground, not caring that her clothes got dirty and wet, and stared blindly in front of her. She was probably trying to understand and comprehend what had happened. Who could blame her? Anyone would freak out, even Jack if the circumstances would’ve been different, but now they’re not. When the ice was gone and had turned into cold water her gaze cleared and she once again saw the ally around her, still not seeing Jack. Jack himself leaned on a wall, looking at the girl. Something about her felt familiar, which was strange because he had never met her before. On the wall behind Jack the frost began to spread, forming patterns of snowflakes, it was beautiful. The girl observed the pattern on the wall as it grew bigger and more beautiful, her eyes glowing. Abruptly, she stood up and went to it, her fingers tracing the snowflakes and suddenly her eyes got teary. When the tears one after one fell down her cheeks, they froze in the cold air, now her cheeks sparkled faintly. Jack felt an urge to wipe those tears away, to comfort her, to protect her, saying that it would all be alright. But of course he couldn’t. In frustration he punched the wall, which was a terrible idea, because seconds later he was holding his hand, screaming in pain. She looked where Jack had hit the wall, it was a vague mark of his hand, her eyes got big, frightened and she backed away from it, turning to run. She was not that fast and it didn’t take long until Jack was running beside her. When she finally slowed down she was breathing hard and shivered from the cold, her clothes were all wet. Jack didn’t know what he could do from here, he couldn’t guide her home, he couldn’t warm her up or dry her clothes. So, in the lack of help he could give her, he called the wind to fly him home, but he was still watching her until he knew she was safe in her house, then he disappeared into the dark.

Jack didn’t know where to go, he didn’t really have somewhere to be and besides he wasn’t tired, so he kept flying. Watching the cities beneath him, searching for something to do, for something strange out there. He never got tired of flying, it was an amazing feeling and it was a fast way to travel, but he would still trade it away if it meant he didn’t have to be alone anymore.

The night had started off cold and now it was freezing, not that it bother Jack. In his boredom he made it snow and made some storms here and there. It was early summer, so the people would get a fun surprise. Sometimes Jack stopped outside a window to look at the children sleep peacefully, some with smiles on their resting faces. It made him calm and some how happy, or at least happier.

Jack flew all night, never getting tired or too exhausted. He was alone and got more miserable as the time went. He hated to be alone, but he’d gotten used to it. He remembered the first days, he’d been so disoriented and puzzled, confused. He hadn’t known anything except for his name. In fact, he still didn’t know anything and it drove him crazy almost to the brink of insane. He knew he could produce storms and snow and so on, but he didn’t know why and how, but just like everything else, he got used to it. To be clueless, to be alone, to be sad, to have nowhere to call home.

Jack knew his name, but what did it matter when no one else did?

Chapter 4

Elsa's POV

Elsa had trained for hours and now she was panting, trying to recollect herself. She felt her heart beat less rapid, her breaths coming out slower. Ever since she’d started to do exercises and to get used to her powers she’d gotten stronger and physically as in mentally in better shape. After every day that went she felt more comfortable with her powers and felt more like they were a part of her, which they always had been, but now it felt different.

The sun was on its way down, preparing the sky for the moon and stars, making it dark. The clouds were colored with warm colors: orange, yellow, red, pink. It looked pretty, but there were so many clouds that Elsa suspected that there would be no moon visible tonight.

Unfortunately, she had been right. The moon was covered by the now grey clouds, but was on view every now and then when the clouds wandered off. Instead of sitting outside she went inside, herself wandering around, looking at the castle that she’d made. She still hadn’t been to every part of it, she hadn’t had the time for it even though she actually had a lot of free time. It was just that even though the castle was wonderful, it would never beat the castle at home. Because that was home and this would never be, not even if she would live here for years and years. It would never be the same and she would never have any good memories of this place. There’s no warmth in this castle, which may seem ironic, but it was true in many ways. There were no love, no memories of happiness, no one to share with. It was just her, her castle and the cold.

Elsa had started to learn to love herself and was happy about that, but she couldn’t get rid of the feeling of being lonely. It made her sad and even to the edge of depressed. She was far from being happy, though there were many things to be happy about: she was alive, she’d started to love herself, she was on the right tracks, Anna was alive, too and safe. There are so many things to be happy about, but we seldom see them through the fog of the bad things. The things that makes us sad weighs so much more than the things that makes us happy and that is a shame. A shame indeed, Elsa thought. Only if I could learn from my own thoughts…

As she walked around she finally found herself at the stairs by the front door. She opened it and stared down the mountain, at the snow, the white landscape. In some ways she missed the summer in Arendelle, even though winter had always been her favorite season of the year. For a second everything lit up, the clouds had moved away from the moon, and Elsa stared up. What she saw made her gape her mouth, forming a huge O, almost with the tongue hanging out. Someone was floating around the moon, or something.
