Chapter four: Late Arrival

Link was amused by someone annoying Midna, he himself had gotten tired of it a long time ago and she'd stopped reacting to whatever he did.
"Stop doing that!" Midna said and flew backwards. "Link? He is not my pet." she said and laughed. Pet? They thought he was a pet? He shook his head. "Nothing, I didn't do that, Zant did. But he is fine."
Link rolled his eyes. That was arguable.
"Do you want to return to Hyrule?" she asked and Link gave it a thought. As a wolf, he could easily run away from them, but as a Hyrule he could defend himself more easily. He quickly nodded and soon stood on two legs and stretched a bit. It was always quite demanding to turn.
"I do not eat your food or drink your drinks. What about you, Link? Do yuo want some?" Midna asked and he shook his head. He had his own stuff.
"So who are you guys, because you are not Hyrules and we are not in my or his world."

"He doesn't say much either, does he?" he said cheerfully and put the thermos back where it belonged. It slightly heated one of his hearts. "What's a highruil? No matter, I have no idea where we are, my Tardis took me here randomly."
He looked at the three persons. Were they suposed to meet here, all four? Or would there be more? He didn't know. He looked up to the sky and noticed that the sun here was larger than the one on Earth, and that the summers were a bit warmer than on Tellus. When he looked at the transformed man, he noticed that he had pointy ears under the green hat and grinned, it looked amusing.

"I have actually never heard him speak." said Midna thoughtfully and looked at Link, who twitched his shoulders. It wasn't that odd, she spoke enough for both of them.
"They are our people, and what is that?" she asked and Link looked at the blue box. He'd seen a lot during his days, but never anything like that. He tried to compare it to something, but couldn't find anything in his memories. He didn't understand these people, one of them didn't speak one word and the other one seemed entertained by something he didn't understand. He looked at the sky and wondered if Epona was fine.
"She is fine, I got her to Kakariko Village, they'll take care of her there." she explained and Link nodded thankfully.

"That, my friends, is a magnificant type 40 TARDIS! It can travel to any location in the universe, allthough this one I've never been to before, so I know nothing of the planets here. Oh, oh oh oh! It can also travel through time! AND SPACE! Oh, wait, I've mentioned that already... So how did you lot get here?" he asked and took the thermos up again, threw the lid away and chugged everything inside with five gulps. Midna spoke.
"Well, we got attacked by a monster, Epona got scarred, Link fell off into the dark and I tried to save him, so here we are."
"And what about you?" he said and turned to the other woman. "How did you get he- Oh yeah, don't talk." he said.
"Well, personally I think this is a-"
CRACK
"-a what was that?!"
It sounded like a twig had been brokened and Doctor turned on the spot, pulled a banana from his pocket and gave it to the orange-dressed woman.
"Hold this, and for the love of human god, don't drop it." then he pulled his sonic screwdriver and pointed it towards the sound.

Chell accepted the banana, surpriced by the gift. She didn't really understand what was so importand with having it. Though she read a long time ago that it was a very good source of potassium. Maybe that was why the man wanted to keep it? If they were stranded on a planet where nothing contained potassium, it could be a life saver.
Chell silently followed Link and the other mystic man, in hope of soon understanding what was going on. She felt her heart beating quickly again and hated not knowing.

"You, Orange, is that a weapon?" he said and pointed ad the ASHPD in her hand. "If it is, use it."
He heard wheel-like sounds and waited. Don't let it be...
"EXTERMINATE!!!" all of them were within the TARDIS's protection.
"Sorry, mate. How did you even get here?"
"I will not tell! You must be EXTERMINATED!"

Chell nodded towards the weird man and prepared her portalgun. It wasn't actually a weapon, but it could be used as one if you were clever enough.
The creature moved towards them and looked like some kind of machine, it could be fragile. It's just ordinary metall.
He saw a very large rock, you'd have to climb to get to the top of it. She shot a portal beneath it and one above the machine. The rock fell through the portals, straight at the machine that looked like it was smashed. It was a long fall, the rock must have hit it with a lot of force. Chell started to smile and felt proud. He looked with questioning eyes at the man, as if she was trying to say 'Ok?'.

"Oh my god, I didn't realise until now! That is a handheld portal device!" he shouted by happiness. "I've always wanted one of those! Say, which company made yours? Wait, don't tell me, is it Dharma? Or maybe Aperture?" she nodded. "Aperture! Of course, they make the best ones! And those are long-fall boots! You, non-speaking woman, might come in handy! You too, non-speaking man, your sword looks... Very impressive." he didn't want to be rude.

Link raised an eyebrow, the man didn't seem so impressed by his sword as he pretended, but Link didn't say anything. He was used to people underestemating swords, or most of his weapons. But he'd lived long enough to learn how to handle them. Without a sword he felt helpless, as if it was a part of his soul missing. He twitched his shoulders, he could show what he had if it was nessesary. He smiled at the hidden skills he'd learned from the former soilder.
"Does anybody know why we are here?" Midna asked.

Chell couldn't release the man out of her sight, it was something odd about him. How could he have always wanted to try some kind of portal device? Chell hadn't had any idea that they existed before she got to Aperture.
She was very pleased with her boots. They had never been brokened. Without them she'd feel nude.

"Nope, not a clue. Not at all. That's why I drink so much tea! When I don't know stuff, I drink some tea. And then my tongue feels tasty." he said and looked around some more.
"Say, this forest might have some dangerous creatures, maybe we should get out of it? I'll just need to remember where I parked..." he said with a sigh. Why couldn't the TARDIS crash at the end of the forest?

Merida held the bow as relaxed as she could, even though she jumped at the slightest sound and turned to it. A twig snapped, Merida turned towards it - freezes and waited for a second. Nothing happened.
"Oh, come on! Merida, man up!" she said to herself and sighed. Her arrow flied away among the trees before she knew it, and when she realised she ran after it. Sure, she had more, but waisting them was very unnessesary. When she finally reached the arrow, she also found a lot of... People who looked strange. Which made Merida stop and tro to hide behind the nearest tree.

The Doctor was busy examining the crushed Dalek closer when she heard someone speak nervously.
"That's a magnificent sword!" he turned around and saw a girl with huge red hair.
"Oh my god!" he shouted out of oure happiness and relief. Maybe, just maybe... He'd be owing the angels one. "Are you a Pond? Nopt the watery kind, is your last name Pond?"
He hoped with sparkling eyes and took out a new thermos and drank some more tea.
"No, sir."
"Oh..." his voice was full of dissapointment. "Well, you're fine anyways! A fancy woman indeed! So are you, Orange!" he said and tried to push away the memory of the graveyard.
"Fancy cup of tea? Wait, with that, by the way, I need to change from these old things." he said and ran into the TARDIS. Away with every trace of them... He ran through a corridor to the left of the right and in to the closet, he saw that the swimming pool was in here too. When he went through the corridor again, he saw a room with bunkbeds. His mouth twitched, then he pointed his screwdriver at the console by the door and locked it. Then he pushed some buttons to put a deadlock on it. Away...
As he stepped out of the small doors, opening to the wrong side, he felt like a new man. He was now wearing a purpule shirt, jeans and black shoes. Then he put the screwdriver in his chest-pocket and walked to the others again, with the thermos in his left hand.
"Now, about that tea?"

Chapter 5: Mu

"What just happened?" the question was mostly for the others, but when the weird man was back, Merida's brain worked again. "Well, yes, if it isn't any trouble, sir."
She realized that her mother had succeeded to change her habits - she said sir and used proper language. She wondered what her mother was doing right now, probably lecturing her brothers or trying to control every movement in the castle.

"Oh, again, be right back!" he said, ran into the TARDIS and pressed the coordinates for the top of one of the trees and opened he doors after the whooshing. He looked around and spotted the end of the forest, then whooshed back to the ground.
"The end of the forest is that way!" he said cheerfully and pointed.

"Good to know." Merida said and looked at where the man was pointing, her arrow annoyed her though, and un-politely enough she climbed the tree to fetch it, which she did without thinking. The arrow slipped back her quiver and the bow was hung at her back before she climbed down again.

Link looked at the direction the man had pointed out and started to run that way. He saw a light further ahead and felt the wind in his fur. He stopped so the others could catch up. He looked at Midna who nodded and he was soon human again. He grabbed the bow and the hawkeye and started to observe the meadow, then drew a map of it.

Doctor went into the TARDIS again and made it land right outside the forest, where the wolfman had stopped. Then he stepped out of it and looked around.
"Well, this seems like a fancy place!" he said cheerfully.
"What do you see?" Midna asked the wolfman.
"Oh, just the meadow."
"Not you, I was talking Link." Wolfman gave her the map and she observed it, alongside with the Doctor. "Houses? Good, we can ask them where we are, then."
Link looked concerned about the idea.
"Houses? That's fantastic! This world is populated!"
He ran towards the houses that the wolfman had marked. He had all the time in the world, literally, yet he ran. He ran from the vortex, even though he passed through it every time he traveled. Soon he arrived, exhausted, yet grinning.

Link sighed heavily, he should have marked a ravine instead, but he wasn't sure that would have stopped the man anyway.
"I think we should follow him before he dies." said Midna and Link nodded. He ran fast enough to catch up with him, which wasn't too difficult. He'd been running his whole life. He catched up with Doctor and stopped him. He shook his head and pointed at the village, then pulled his finger across his throat and hoped that the Doctor understood.

"No need to worry!" The wolfman gave him a Why-Not look. "Because I'm the Doctor, mate!"
He knocked at the first door he found, to an inn which he didn't have the time to read the name of.
The door opened and a man with a crossbow pointed at his left heart.
"Hello, mate! I'm the Doctor, here's my card!" he said and showed him the psychic paper.
"I can't read." the man said angrily "What is your name?"
"That's not important right now, for now you can call me Doctor!" he said with a wide smile. "Fancy a cup of te- Wait, I'm all out. Sorry..."

Link wondered if the man had a deathwish. To annoy people with weapons was not very wise. Either you shot first, or you get the person to put down the weapon. Link aimed his bow at the man who was aiming at Doctor.
"You, funny looking man, put down your bow." the inn-man said. Link shook his head and pointed at the man, then his bow and drew the arrow further back. Finally the inn-man put down the crossbow. Midna catched up with them.
"Of course you have got into trouble." she said and Link looked at the Doctor. "Fine, both of you have."
She looked at the man in the door.
"Where are we?"

"Why should I tell you?" said the inn-man. "What makes you think you're superior to me?"
"I'll tell you why, dear gentleman sir!" the Doctor said. "Lock that door, and make sure it's locked tight!"
The man was annoyed.
"Oh, where's my manners, I forgot please!"
He rolled his eyes and locked the doors, then twitched it three times to make sure it was locked. Doctor pulled his screwdriver.
"What is that, a wand?"
"No, no no no. This is so much more. This, my good gentleman sir, is a tool OF THE FUTURE!" the Doctor said, rather shouted, and pressed the button. Then he put it back into his pocket and pulled the door open.
"Wichcraft!"
"Technology! Do you have anything brokened? A chain or something similar?" Doctor asked, the man fetched two parts of a rope. "Thanks!"
Doctor soniced the ropes and they were forged back together.
"Sorcery!" Inn-Man shouted.
"Sonic-ery!"
"Ok, that was indeed impressive. What about you lot? What can you do?"

Link looked at the man with annoyed eyes, to prove what he was able to do was something that angered him. But he was going to do it anyway for the man to help them.
"Wolf?" Midna asked, and Link nodded. He was turned to a wolf, then back again. The inn-man looked at him with surprise in his face. Then Link went inside and threw a flowerpot to the floor.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"So you have a hell?" Doctor asked.
"Wait." Link said. Doctor looked surprised, but kept quiet for the moment.
He walked out from the Inn and closed the door, waited for a second, then opened it again. The flowerpot was whole again.
"Amazing! Do you have one of those?" the inn-man asked and pointed at the Doctor's screwdriver. Link shook his head. He'd always been able to do this, and it was very practical. Finally the Doctor spoke.
"Oh! oh oh oh! Oh my lord, Wolfman! You talked! You're not a mute!" he sounded excited. "Now, what is this place then?"
Link rolled his eyes, of course he could talk, he only preferred to do it when he really needed to. He didn't see the point of words. He merely nodded to the Doctor, and Midna looked surprised. The man looked at them all.
"This is Mu, the lost continent and land." he said as if it was obvious. It didn't tell Link anything, and it didn't seem to ring a bell for the others either.

The Doctor twitched his shoulder, he'd never heard of it before.
"Do you, uhm, do you have lots of cows..." he tried to hold in his laughter. "Do you have cows here at Mu?"
The Inn-man looked confused.
"No, what makes you think that?"
"Oh, nothing really." he successfully hid a laughter with a cough. "You wouldn't understand. Say, you haven't seen any of those huge pepper pot looking thing-a-majiggas that shout EXTERMINATE all the time?" he asked with a skillful imitation of the Daleks.
"The what?"
"Never mind then."
The man talked to all of them now.
"Who are you people anyway? You don't seem from here, or even the same place as each other?" the man said. Doctor saw Link look at the man.
"I am Link from Hyrule" he said politely.
"I am Midna." she said simply.
"I'm Merida, sir." the inn-man didn't seem to understand what she said with that accent of hers.

Chell couldn't really decide what she thought of the Doctor.
Right now she wasn't that bothered by him, but if he continued like this she would soon want to chop off his head.
After not seeing people for a long time, this was too much... Too much human...
The Doctor spoke a bit too much, she preferred when you cut to the chase. That was one of the pros about the AI-robots at Aperture. They didn't speak gibberish, they said what they wanted immediately.
Chell followed, but kept a safe distance from the Doctor and Link. Especially when they showed what they were able to do to the man at the door. Chell got an urge to take her Portalgun and scare them with it, but didn't want to waste energy on that.
